As you know, Mercedes-Benz vehicles are produced and manufactured in Germany, where there are countless roads that span through countrysides, between hilly ravines and along winding mountainous roads. That is where drivers truly get the most from their luxury and performance cars, as they have the ability to showcase the exceptional handling, incredible speed and unparalleled agility of their cars. But unfortunately for Americans, those types of roads are far less common. However, Jalopnik, a popular automotive blog owned by Gawker Media, recently published a piece titled “The Best Driving Road Ever: In Illinois?”
As a Chicagoland Mercedes-Benz dealership, this quickly grabbed our attention, as the article highlighted one of the best roads for performance cars in America.
In an area called the Galena Territory , which is located in the northwestern corner of the state, there is a winding road that Jalopnik writer Jonathan Klein calls “an area intended by god himself for epic driving enjoyment.”
The Galena Territory is an area that went untouched by the last glacier that tore through Illinois, leaving a countryside that resembles the landscape of those incredible European roads you see in so many Mercedes-Benz ads.
