Answers to common questions about the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

With its many safety and comfort features, spacious interior with multiple configurations and maneuverability, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter has long been a front-running choice for passenger vans and commercial haulers. Still, we’ve noticed people looking for answers to common questions about the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, ranging from practical to speculative, and we wanted to do our best to answer them.

How long is a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter?

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is 19 feet 5.3 inches (about 6 meters) long and 6 ft. 6.4 inches (about 2 meters) wide. It has a maximum cargo capacity of 318 cubic feet. In some configurations, the interior of the van is tall enough for even a six-footer to walk upright.

While Mercedes-Benz offers a variety of upgrade options for every aspect of the Sprinter, the baseline interior is comfortable but practical. The front has cloth, bucket seats, an overhead console with storage, door pockets and front cup holders. The exact look of the remaining interior will depend on whether you choose a cargo or passenger configuration.

What kind of gas mileage does the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter get?

While there are no official EPA-estimates on gas mileage at this time, Mercedes-Benz representatives have put the estimated gas mileage of the Sprinter van in the high 20s. Because diesel is up to 30 percent more efficient than gasoline engines, you can bet that the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter will get significantly better miles-per-gallon than its gasoline competitors and save you money.

Is there an RV or camper version of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter?

While there is no official Mercedes-Benz RV on the market, the Sprinter Caravan Concept was unveiled in 2013. This was a vehicle that had all the great space and maneuverability of the classic Sprinter, but with bathroom and sleeping accommodations built-in for optimal camping comfort.

I own a 2013 Mercedes Benz winnebago era170x. It has a gasoline engine. I am tying to sell it and everyone is telling me that it is diesel. I have taken many a trips and its gasoline.
The only thing I can think of is it possible that the original owner replaced the diesel with gas?

Do you know if there were 2013 winnebago era 170x with Mercedes chassis made with a gas engine? If so what engine is actually in this vehicle?

    Thank you
    Im at a total loss
