Adaptive Brake Assist
Mercedes-Benz Collision Prevention Assist uses a number of features, including Adaptive Break Assist, to help you avoid possible collisions while driving. At speeds above approximately five mph, sensors around your vehicle start detecting for other moving vehicles and stationary objects in proximity to your vehicle. When it senses that you are approaching said object at unsafe speeds, a visual waning will first display on your instrument panel. A warning alarm will also sound, and if enabled, Adaptive Break Assist will help to ensure that you provide the correct breaking force to avoid collision. Watch the video provided for a full description. These technologies can be activated or deactivated using the buttons on the Mercedes-Benz multi-function steering wheel.
