2018 Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade Details
In Chicago, we tend to make a big deal out of the holidays and we love a good parade. That’s why there’s no better place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day than here in Chicago. Each year, the Chicago River runs green as we celebrate our annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade through Grant Park. If you’re interested in taking part this year, here are the details on the Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
When is the 2018 St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Chicago?
This year, we’re lucky enough to have Saint Patrick’s Day fall on a Saturday so the festivities will be held here in Chicago on March 17, starting at 12 pm. Prior to the parade, you can witness the dyeing of the river, which will take place at 9am along the Chicago River between Michigan Ave and Columbus Drive.
What is the 2018 Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade Route?
The 2018 Chicago Saint Patrick’s Day Parade begins at 12 pm, with the start of its route located at the corner of Balbo Ave and Columbus Drive. It then continues north on Columbus Drive and reaches its end at Monroe Street.
If you aren’t able to make it to the Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade, but still want to show off your Irish pride, we recommend checking out the South Side Irish Parade, which will be held on Sunday, March 11th at noon. The parade will step off from 103rd and travel down Western Avenue to 115th Street.
