2018 Mercedes-Benz Car-to-X Communication
For 2018, the Mercedes-Benz brand is seeing plenty of updates and new features. One of the brand’s most notable additions to its lineup’s feature lists is the all-new Mercedes-Benz Car-to-X Communication feature. A now-standard feature in the 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, this impressive technology was designed to make driving even more simple than ever by adding a new communication ability between vehicles.
With the industry-leading Mercedes-Benz Car-to-X Communication feature enabled, every new 2018 E-Class model can automatically alert a central notification system of certain dangers. This includes things like a detected wheel-spin from loss of traction, the use of hazard lighters or even windshield wiper use.
The system then will alert other new E-Class drivers (or other model drivers once the technology is available to them) through their vehicle’s in-dash displays or make announcements. This allows other drivers to take extra precaution when approaching the hazard.
How Does the System Work?
The Car-to-X services are activated through the mbrace® Connect feature in your Mercedes-Benz vehicle. These services function using cellular and Global Positioning System satellite signals provided by third parties. As such, the feature may be restricted or limited in some areas. To sign up for the mbrace® Connect subscription, contact us today at Loeber Motors.
