2017 Mercedes-Benz SLC-Class at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show
Known for its high-class models that offer the perfect blend of interior comfort and power and performance, the Mercedes-Benz brand is no stranger to the sports car. With a full lineup of its production models available on the floor at the Chicago Auto Show this weekend, we’re sure that much attention will be paid to the 2017 Mercedes-Benz SLC-Class roadster, which is making its first auto show debut.
With its undeniable style and the power and performance to match, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz SLC-Class is primed and ready to take on competitor roadsters like the Alfa Romeo 4C and the Porsche Boxster. This comes first and foremost thanks to its refreshing new engine options.
A Powerful Performance
As we mentioned, the 2017 SLC-Class has a couple new engine options for buyers to choose from. These include a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that’s able to produce 241 horsepower. This engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission for a smooth, sporty drive. Also paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission is its second engine option, a 3.0-liter V6 engine that’s able to put forth an impressive 362 horsepower.
Adding to its dynamic drive is its rear-wheel drive design. With all of its power, you might expect it to be a real gas guzzler, but this isn’t the case for the SLC-Class. The 2017 SLC300 model boasts an EPA-estimated 25 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway, while the SLC43 offers a rating of 20 city / 29 hwy.
