Have you ever sat down to play a racing video game with your heart set on driving a Porsche 911 or Cayman, only to scan the available cars and not find a single Porsche available? That’s because Porsche has the rights to all digital representations of their vehicles, and up until now, has not made them available to the creators of some of the top racing video games available.
That all changed today when a new Porsche Expansion Pack was released for Forza Horizon 2. In that DLC, players will have access to 10 Porsche vehicles, including icons like the Porsche 959 (see complete list below). The expansion pack also includes 10 Bucket List events, 10 Rival events, and 15 achievements.
Without further ado, here are the 10 Porsche vehicles now available in Forza Horizon 2.
- 1970 Porsche 914/6
- 1982 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.3
- 1987 Porsche 959
- 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo
- 2003 Porsche Carrera GT
- 2012 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0
- 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder
- 2015 Porsche Cayman GTS
- 2015 Porsche Macan Turbo
As the first set of Porsche vehicles to be available in a new video game, this is a pretty impressive list, and one that will be well worth the $9.99 for dedicated players. While there aren’t many cars that can rival some of the classic Porsche models on this list, the new models like the Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo provide a modern appeal that can’t be matched.
Of course, some of these newer models are also available on our lot, so if you want to experience these performance-focused vehicles for yourself, you can schedule a test drive. But you’ll have to drive a little more carefully than you do in the game!
Hopefully the Porsche Expansion Pack for Forza Horizon 2 means we’ll be seeing more Porsches in racing games in the near future!
