Both the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Sport and GLA45 AMG utilize 4MATIC all-wheel drive, but power is sent to that system from a choice of two transmissions. The 2016 GLE Coupe utilizes a 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission while the GLA45 AMG houses a 7-speed AMG Speedshift transmission. While they function differently on a few levels, they both feature steering-wheel mounted controls for full manual control.
While specs and feature comparisons on paper are a good baseline for choosing your next vehicle, the best way to get a feel for these models is by getting behind the wheel for a test drive at Loeber Motors.
